Because we have our own factory right here in San Francisco we can handcraft a custom sized McRoskey mattress for your antique bed, European bed or other nonstandard bedframe that does not accommodate a standard size mattress. It is just one more way we’re different from other mattress companies.
Case in point: We recently built, delivered and installed a custom-sized McRoskey byDesign mattress set tor this beautiful French antique bedstead. The mattress is a perfect fit.
The bedstead, crafted of walnut and wicker, is originally from Normandy, France and is thought to be a commissioned piece built around 1870. It is a “cane bed” with beautiful detail.
The McRoskey byDesign mattress was built to 55” x 80”, while the box is slightly smaller at 54.5” x 79”. Four special corners were needed to allow the mattress to fit into the curvaceous French antique bedstead.
It took approximately two months from first measure to delivery and installation of the custom mattress set.
Because we make our own components, we can meet the challenge of building comfortable, custom size mattresses and box springs for virtually any style or size bed. Details like specially shaped corners, unusually shaped sides or ends, box springs with recessed bottoms, extra deep or low profile box springs are not a problem.
